| The button said "Don't click here," BUT YOU DID IT ANYWAY! Just as in life, you had lots of other choices, but you made a decision to go where you were told not to. In the midst of other options, you deliberately went to the one that said 'DON’T.' This illustration demonstrates a similarity to a real event that happened a long time ago. God is the creator of heaven and earth. He made earth a beautiful and perfect place which He gave to Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve could go anywhere they liked, do anything, and just enjoy the whole of creation - with just a simple single exception. One tree - the tree of the knowledge of good and evil - was off limits. However, just as you clicked on a button that said "Don't click here," Adam and Eve chose to eat from the tree that was off limits. They deliberately chose to disobey God's warning. When Adam disobeyed God, he surrendered his authority over creation which in turn brought sin and death into the world. As we see in the world today, sin brings with it many terrible consequences, but the most terrible was death. Sin brought physical and spiritual death into the world, separating mankind from God forever. The penalty for sin is death. But Jesus loved us so much that He left heaven, came to earth as a human being, lived a sinless and exemplary life and was crucified on a cross to pay the penalty for our sins. He came back to life three days later, proving He is God, and that He is the ONLY way back to God. Right now, He offers each one of us forgiveness of our sins. But we must accept His gift of forgiveness, for it cannot be earned. So how do you accept this gift? Believe in Jesus Christ as your Saviour. Believe that God loves you and wants you to experience His peace and life. The Bible says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life." Right now, you can cross the bridge into God's family and receive Jesus into your heart and life. To receive Jesus you need to do four things:
